Speaking to Journalists yesterday after 9 candidates successfully filed in their nominations in Chawama,
ECZ Commissioner Ndiyoi Mutiti reminded the participating candidates on the importance of allowing each other to sell their manifesto without interference.
Commissioner Mutiti however disclosed that three political parties namely the Socialist Party, Resolute Party and the Movement for Change and Equity and one independent candidate, did not file in their nominations for unknown reasons despite being on the list of nominations.
Meanwhile, Political Scientist Dr. Alex Ng’oma has urged candidates to focus on issue-based campaigns, saying politics should not divide them.
He has stressed competing on development promises and appealed to residents to vote for an MP who will address their needs.
