A severe fuel shortage has hit Luanshya District on the Copperbelt, disrupting operations for motorists and businesses alike.
A check by Phoenix News found long queues at the Puma Service Station, the only operational service station in the district, while other stations remain closed due to lack of the commodity.
Some motorists particularly those in public transport, have voiced frustration to Phoenix News over the ongoing crisis, which is now in its third consecutive month.
Meanwhile, Oil Marketing Companies Association of Zambia President Dr. Kafula Mubanga explains that the shortage is partly caused by unforeseen circumstances, such as prolonged delays in the transportation of fuel due to poor road conditions between Zambia and Mozambique.
