The Ministry of Health says the country has had no trace of any reported case of Mpox since it recorded its first Mpox case from a Tanzanian national early this month.
In an interview with Phoenix News, Ministry of Health Spokesperson Dr. Kalangwa Kalangwa says the Tanzanian national is still undergoing treatment and has improved with reduced skin rash.
Dr. Kalangwa says the country should not panic about any spread of Mpox, adding that there have been zero cases in the past days since the first reported outbreak.
He has since assured that despite not having any cases since then, the ministry has still heightened surveillance and monitoring, enhanced screening at points of entry and embarked on public awareness campaigns on the disease.
Dr. Kalangwa is reminding the public that frequently travel across borders not to be reluctant but practice precaution as the disease still remains high in various countries.
