The Road Development Agency -RDA says it will continue to engage engineers and quality control specialists to ensure the Lusaka- Ndola dual carriage way is a standard road once construction is complete.
RDA Chief Communications and Corporate Affairs Manager Anthony Mulowa explains that quality control of construction materials and products being utilized by the agency, has been an essential requirement for obtaining improved and uniform standard for the construction of the dual carriage way.
Mr Mulowa states that since works commenced, the agency has relied on field inspection, field testing and laboratory testing activities which have been done by specialists in-house, third-party testing services and other government agencies.
He has however added that to complement quality of works, the agency is engaging an independent engineer who will be on the ground by the end of October.
Mr. Mulowa states that RDA remains vigilant in ensuring quality work, as it is crucial to prevent substandard work during construction of the road.
